Reception Trends Couples Are Loving
Wedding trends come and go, but the big shift right now is simple: couples want a party that feels like them, not a formal show. Here are a few ideas we think are worth a look.
Music from start to finish. More couples want their DJ handling the whole day, not just dancing. That means curated cocktail hour music, dinner sets and smooth transitions between every moment.
A DJ plus a live musician. Pairing a DJ with a live sax player or percussionist adds a big burst of energy to open dancing. It feels like a concert without the cost of a full band.
Mixing across generations. Couples are asking for sets that blend throwbacks, R&B, country and today's hits, so every age group gets a turn on the floor.
Moments guests can take home. Photo booths, live illustrators and other keepsake ideas give guests something to do and something to remember.
Less formality, more fun. Some couples are skipping traditions that don't fit them, like the garter toss, and replacing them with moments that do, like a group song with the whole wedding party.
Lighting that sets the mood. Uplighting in your wedding colors and dance lighting can transform a plain ballroom or barn into a party space.
Curious which of these would work at your venue? Ask us at your planning meeting.
